Church in the middle of the village
The red-roofed, yellow-sided wooden cruciform church has stood firmly in place since 1813. It was built by church builder Matti Åkergren from Ruovesi. The design of the church, with its equal sides and side bevels, may have been influenced by the stone church model developed in Sweden in the 18th century, the prototypes of which reach back to St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
The church’s two-part altarpiece was painted by Viktor Bosin. The works depict the taking down of Jesus from the cross and the Last Supper. The first is an imitation of a painting by Rubens, and the latter is based on a work by Leonardo da Vinci on the same subject.
See you at the market place
Luopioinen market is a lively meeting place on Thursdays and Saturdays.
The market has been voted among the best markets in Pirkanmaa in a public vote by newspaper Aamulehti.
Especially in the summer season, the market is filled with vendors and customers. People come to spend their time in the market café and the market pavilion.

Living in smoke house was very common in the 19th century and in parts of the country until the early 20th century.
