Outdoor Village

Luopioinen’s excellent local sports opportunities,
beautiful lakeside nature and services
have given birth to the Outdoor Village.
Village tourism is a new trend,
to which the Outdoor Village brings new content.
The Outdoor Village utilizes the region’s low-threshold, close-to-each-other activities, which are largely free, easily accessible and usable.
In the Outdoor Village, the framework
for feeling good:
forest, village and water, are nearby.
Experience them in peace or with friends.

The harmony of villages, fields, forests and lakes truly rests the eye.
If you are looking for the true silence of nature,
the lone rower, paddler, angler or ice-fisher can find it in the backs and coves of Lake Kukkia and other lakes.
While hiking in the vast open spaces of Laipanmaa or enjoying a snack by the shore of a forest pond,
a person stuck in the wheels of a hectic, hectic rhythm of life
can learn to listen to the silence within themselves.

Outdoor information
Outdoor equipment can be borrowed and rented from the outdoor information office, which is located right in the middle of the village at Keskitie 15.
The office has canoes and hopper boats, as well as propellers in winter.
The Luopioinen municipal information office in Mikkola also offers guidance, brochures, maps and local literature for the region.

Forest bath
Forest bathing is a conscious presence in nature. It provides ways to manage stress and calm down.
Research has shown that time spent in nature increases well-being, forest bathing effectively calms the body and mind because it allows us to stop and wonder at nature and calm down.
Studies show that just 10-20 minutes in nature can improve our mood, lower our stress levels, blood pressure and breathing rate, and reduce negative feelings such as anxiety, depression and aggression.
Spending more time in nature has also been shown to affect our body’s ability to defend itself against disease. It improves our alertness and gives us positive energy and vitality.

The Luopioinen Outdoor Forest Park is located right next to the village in a varied forest terrain.
The Park is an excellent place to get out in the countryside. The environment is diverse with hills, lichen cliffs, salt marshes and a varied network of trails.

Village bath

On the village path
In addition to getting out in nature, the outdoor village offers a relaxing leisure experience: a leisurely walk on the village path.
The villagers greet you with a wave of their hand, a habit that is easy to learn. You sit on a bench and you might get a dog to scratch or hear stories about life in Luopioinen.
In winter, you can take a village bath in the Luopioinen style with a kick sled, which you can borrow from the outdoor recreation office.
Packed lunches for the village bath
The terrace of the Liekki restaurant is also popular with outdoor enthusiasts. A leisurely break and good food are the highlights of the village bath.
Pyting’s café MammaRita in Mikkola Park is also a cozy and peaceful place, where pastry chef Rita serves homemade delicacies.
The health effects of the village bath are comparable to those of forest bathing. While the effects of forest bathing are related to one’s own experience of nature, the village bath seeks a community experience. We are not alone in the world and another person is nearby.

Participate in events and activities
You can also experience the village bath by participating in events, which are plentiful in Luopioinen and its surroundings.
The public sauna in Rajalansaari on summer Wednesdays is a favorite of many with its smoke sauna experiences, sausage bonfires and soot-pan coffee.
You can also join a joint activity, such as the Topparoikka help group, the Omppupomppu village park group, the smoke sauna heaters, the church boat restorers or even experience winter nets together.
