The municipality’s summer day coffees in Mikkola Park have a long tradition.
The evening of the Black Market at the end of October brings the village full of people.

The auditorium is the heart of Mikkola. People gather there to listen to and discuss performances and documentaries.
The auditorium is an excellent setting for music and theater events.
The council hall in Pytinki is a traditional venue for community meetings.
Mikkola’s workshop, located in the basement of the Navetta building, is a place for woodworking to meet the needs of Mikkola’s maintenance and the community..
The auditorium also serves as a venue for both small and larger parties, complemented by the beautiful interior of the entire Navetta.

The History of Mikkola in Brief

The 120-year story of the Mikkola homestead has progressed from cultivating the land
to taking care of the whole community and
further to cultivating a diverse culture and sense of community.

The year was 1922. At that time, the hosts of Mikkola, Johannes and Suoma Nieminen, sold Mikkola along with its movables to the municipality of Luopioinen. Mikkola became a municipal farm.
The year was 1963. Navetta burned down, marking the end of Mikkola’s agriculture. This event initiated the industrialization of the municipality, and the barn was transformed into an industrial hall, initially filled with sewing machines
The year was 2004. After the period of industrialization, Mikkola began to transform into a hub of community activities, which has continued to the present day.
